This is a great second step knitting class.
Working in the round is a skill used for many projects including hats, mittens, and sweaters.
In this class we will cover how to knit on circular needles, as well as double pointed needles.
Week one we will cast on and begin knitting a hat on a circular needle. Between the classes the students are to knit the body of the hat up to the point of decreasing.
In the second class we will knit a miniature hat on double pointed needles as a road map for the next steps of our full sized hat. After completing this cute miniature we will begin the decreases on our full sized hat, changing to double pointed needles as necessary.

Learning Outcomes: cast on with both circular needles and double pointed needles, work in the round on both circular needles and double pointed needles.

Required Skills: knit stitch and purl stitch. Beginner friendly!

Required Materials: 100g of worsted weight yarn, 4.5mm 16″ circular (optional), 5.5mm 16″ circular, 5.5mm double pointed needles, stitch markers, darning needle.
These materials are *NOT* included with the price of the class and must be purchased separately before the class starts.

Next Steps: Knitting 2- Increases and Decreases is a great next class that builds on what we learned in this class

This class was an awesome follow-up after the intro to knitting classes! Got to make a cute hat and start learning about decreasing stitches! Starting to feel more comfortable trying other patterns and making more cute things!
